Detoxing Roasted Tomatoes

The Vitamin K1 in tomatoes are extremely beneficial for your bone health and to control your blood pressure. Tomatoes are created with simple sugars and huge amount of fibre. They are filled with vitamin C which is needed for strengthening your immune system. In short, they are great for your skin, your heart, your hair, it prevents cancer, makes you stronger. Tomatoes very low in calories which makes them good for weight loss. It's good to consume tomatoes in smaller quantities almost every day.


What you need & how much

Tomatoes - 3 large, firm

Garlic - Fresh(2-3 pods crushed) or ground(2 tsps)

Ground Black pepper - to sprinkle

Parsley - 2 tbsps finely chopped

Oregano - 2 tsps finely chopped or dried

Olive oil - enough to sprinkle well on the baking tray and over the tomatoes (as shown in the video below)

Salt - to sprinkle


For this yummy detoxing tomato recipe, use any large firm red tomatoes. Cut them into thick slices. On a baking tray, line a parchment sheet, sprinkle some olive oil and place the tomatoes slices. On the slices, sprinkle some more oil, some salt, garlic powder or crushed garlic, ground black pepper, parsley and oregano.


Roast the tomato slices in a preheated oven of 450 Fahrenheit for about 10 – 12 mins.


The aroma, the prettiness…so flavourful, a total heart winner! This makes a perfect snack or an appetizer or you can slide them into your favourite salads or sandwiches.
